Chinese Zodiacs
The Chinese zodiac follows a twelve year cycle, each of the years being named after an animal. The Chinese people believe that people born in a cartain year take on the characteristics of the animal associated with that year. Every new year in china is named after one of the twelve animals,each animal taking it in turns. Animal signs are used for festivals and religious ceremonies, birthdays and working out horoscopes. The animals are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and the pig.
